WHO WE ARE
The Kinwoven Foundation community will be built on a 20-acre campus in the beautiful Hill Country of San Marcos, Texas, centered in the I-35 corridor between Austin and San Antonio. Our continuous care community is conveniently located close to the historic downtown San Marcos, Texas State University, outlet malls, and multiple green spaces including the San Marcos River. Walk our nature trails, enjoy the 100-year-old oak trees surrounding the technology-enabled residences, healthy food. This is the perfect retirement setting. Our community is expected to open its doors in the fall of 2021.
Our focus is to provide aging or disabled residents with an easier and less stressful life. With a beautiful home environment, modern technology, private home health care or hospice care when needed. Our focus is on an innovative model of intergeneration integration and health care delivery to improve quality of life outcomes. For residents requiring specialty Memory or Alzheimer’s care, we envision state of the art homes that provide security, proper nutrition, nursing care and a level of both physical and mental activities to allow them to thrive in a natural environment, aging in place, with as little medication as possible.
OUR MISSION
Kinwoven‘s charitable mission is to provide comprehensive supportive services to older adults or adults with disabilities.
Depending upon residents’ needs services will include social and recreational programming; wellness and exercise programs; nutrition and dining programs; transportation; educational programs; health and wellness education; care coordination; assistance accessing community and government resources; fall-prevention and safety programs; emergency-response systems; spiritual and emotional support; volunteer opportunities; intergenerational programming; dementia education and support; caregiver and family support; advance-care-planning education; and assistance coordinating appropriate health-care services.
Kinwoven has also established relationships with physicians, home health agencies, rehabilitation providers, palliative-care providers, hospice providers, pharmacies, hospitals, and other community health-care organizations so that residents can obtain appropriate services as their health needs change.
